PRECIOUS METALS AFFECTED BY SHARP SALES WAVE AT BORSA ISTANBUL

It was a week that developments in the USA gave direction to precious metals. The Us election and US 10 years bonds adversely affected gold and silver. Trump fans attacking the Senate building was a big event last week.

Yellow metal started with by gaining ground and reached its highest level as 1956,40 usd/oz. Because of the news coming from international markets, gold couldn’t stay at this level at Borsa Istanbul. Day by day gold lost blood and completed the week with 1892,45 usd/oz level and it was almost the same as last week. There was a very wide price band with 82,40 usd/oz. Gold transaction volume was quite good as more than 15 MT at Borsa. The closing was 1849,44 usd/oz level with high sales effect at international markets.

Silver also declined last week. Silver price moved around 27 usd/oz at Borsa Istanbul. The closing was 26,68 usd/oz level, which is the same with lowest price. Totally 15 MT silver changed hands at Borsa.

At Borsa Istanbul’s screen at morning session there are sellers with premium between 0,2 usd/oz and 2,5 usd/oz. 0,25 usd/oz premium also realized.
